Walking through the Cape of Good Hope
Cape Town and Surrounds incorporating walking/hiking.
Fitness level: Medium fitness, ability to easily walk for 2 to 3 hours per day.
Active Cape Town City Tour: This morning is an early start, we leave the hotel and head up Lions Head where we leave the vehicle, we then spend the next hour or so ascending Lions Head, there is no better way to welcome a new day over the city! We then enjoy the breakfast packed by your hotel before descending back down to the car park. We then get back into the vehicle and continue down into the city to explore the city highlights including the Cape of Good Hope Castle, the Company Gardens and the District Six Museum. After some lunch our options are to ascend Table Mountain via Cable Car or to visit Robben Island. This tour finishes in the early afternoon so that you can get some much needed rest before you explore some of the cities first class restaurants for dinner!
Active Cape Point Tour: Today we are going to experience the famous Cape Peninsula Route, visiting Cape Point, The Cape of Good Hope and Boulders Beach to view the Penguins. We cover a total of 150 Km by car but once we are down at Cape Point we abandon the car and start walking through the Nature Reserve, with majestic cliffs, deserted beaches and the fresh wind blowing off the ocean, this is some of the cleanest air in the world, this short hike will be the highlight of the day. After walking for about an hour you will be collected by your guide who will escort you to the best view sites at Cape Point. After lunch we visit the Penguins at Boulders Beach after which we make our way back to Cape Town.
Active Winelands Tour: Today’s tour starts a bit later so you have a chance to sleep in. We head out to the wine region where we visit some of the local wineries to taste some of the countries best wines! After exploring Stellenbosch and lunch in Franschhoek, the culinary capital of South Africa, we head over to Paarl where we spend about 45 mins walking up Paarl Rock for a spectacular sunset over the winelands, a perfect sunset to end a perfect active, fun and informative visit to the Cape!
