Tour Details:

This is a must do activity while in Cape Town. We endeavour to get our clients away early on this day as it is a popular route and its best to get ahead of the crowds. On this tour we cover 100 miles travelling down the West coast of the Cape Peninsula to Cape Point and back along the East Coast.

There are plenty of interesting things to see and do along the route and your private Cape Town Tour Guide will explain the options to you. Typically we like to include activities such as travelling along Chapman’s Peak Drive, one of the Country’s most famous scenic drives, visiting the Cape Point Ostrich Farm, taking a walk through the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and of course the main stop of the day is the view site at Cape Point itself. This is an incredibly beautiful mass of land that dramatically juts out into the ocean and it is quite an experience to stand up at the old lighthouse, wind in your hair, ocean all around you and steep cliff faces below. You cannot help but imagine and relive the lives of the Portuguese sailors who would travel for months in their attempts to round the Cape and sail to India in the 15th Century.

From Cape Point we make our way back along the False Bay to Simon’s Town to view the African Penguins, you will get right up close to these adorable creatures that populate the beach in their hundreds. Boulders Beach has become world renowned for its penguin colony and should not be missed! If you still have the energy, your tour guide can take you to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens for a guided introductory tour before you return to your hotel. Kirstenbosch is a spectacular botanical haven tucked away behind Table Mountain, a nature lover’s paradise.

Some other activities that can be included on this route include; visiting the seals by boat in Hout Bay, visiting a community school in Ocean View, visiting the shark centre in Kalk Bay and several other activities that your experienced Cape Town tour guide will recommend to you.

We recommend a private tour to explore the Cape Peninsula route, your private tour guide will ensure that you get the most out of your day around the Peninsula and will make sure that you get to see more than the standard tourist route.
